Analytics
This site uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It counts page views without cookies, without tracking you across sites, and without collecting personal information. No advertising trackers, no pixels, no fingerprinting.
If you subscribe to Letters from the Desk or open the Field Guide Vault, your email address (and first name, if you share it) is stored with Mailchimp, which handles delivery. It is used to send you the letters and guides you asked for — nothing else. It is never sold or shared. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing works immediately.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form are processed by Netlify Forms and delivered to Christa. Your message and contact details are used to reply to you, and for no other purpose.
Fonts and video
Headline and body fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may log requests as described in Google’s privacy policy. Video on the home page is hosted on this site directly — no third-party video platforms.
